Charitable Donations

Dymchurch Players have been raising money for charity since 2012 and, to date, we have raised over £52,500! We know how valuable all donations are to charities up and down the country and we are proud of our contributions and grateful to our audiences and supporters for making it possible.

However, we have decided to make a slight change and this is where you come in...

For each production we stage, the final show is a charity performance and all the money raised from tickets, raffle and donations goes to our chosen charity. Going forward we would like to split this amount so each year 50% of the charity performance money will go to our nominated charity for the year (last year was Demelza, the year before Pilgrims Hospice) and 50% will go to smaller, local (within 10 miles of Dymchurch) charities. 

In order to be considered for inclusion we will require a letter outlining the charity, what it does for the people it benefits and how it achieves that.  We will also require the Registered Charity number.  If you know of any local charities you feel could use our support, please ask them to contact our secretary via this link 

Here's Why We Do It

Over the last few years Dymchurch Players have made one show of each production into a charity event, where all monies from tickets, raffles and programme sales plus collection boxes across all nights go to our nominated charity for the year.

This endeavour was made more poignant following the diagnosis of Mark Head, one of our longest serving members, previous Chairman and a great champion for the Players, with cancer in 2012.
